Tour blog: on the road in the South West

After driving down to Plymouth late last night, it was an early start for the team as we headed to Bodmin Town Hall for a meeting with members from across Cornwall first thing this morning.

Ed also met up with his ‘penpal’ 15 year old David Evans. They have been writing to each other since David first wrote to Ed three years ago about the challenges he faced at school having Asperger’s Syndrome.

David is a talented guitarist and Ed found the time to play the drums alongside him before heading to Exeter where he joined the other candidates in a brief hustings and then campaigning for a local by-election.

Before tonight’s hustings he joined CWU members in Bristol city centre to campaign against Royal Mail privatisation. Tomorrow Ed and the team head back up to Yorkshire as Ed will be on Any Questions from Sheffield.
