The refurbished Thorpe Community Centre

Last Friday I joined local Councillor Jack Dunn and local residents in Thorpe Community Centre for a cup of coffee and a chat to local residents.

The newly refurbished community centre in Thorpe opened in May after 6 months of closure due to water damage.

I met with committee members Greg Langley and Adrian Walker who told me how since the centre had been given a facelift, there was much more going on at the centre including weekly zumba classes, computer classes and coffee mornings, and they hoped that soon there would also be tai-chi and reflexology classes, and a weekly book club.

I know it’s been a long wait for people round here in Thorpe but the community centre has been freshened up and I’m really pleased that there is so much going on here for local people.

For more information, or to find out more about the classes, please get in touch with my Constituency Office on 0113 253 9466.
