Visit to Kodak plant in Morley

Last week I visited one of the biggest employers in Morley – the Kodak plant, where they are becoming world leaders in an innovative new printing technology. I learnt that despite the adverse economic circumstances, workers at the plant are facing up to the difficult economic problems.

The Kodak plant on the Howley Park Business Estate in Morley is one of our biggest employers, with almost 300 people employed on the site. It’s really important to hear from strong local employers like Kodak. They are on the front line of managing changes to the economy, so it’s vital we listen to their experiences of managing the challenges faced across Morley and Leeds in the current climate.

The success of this plant shows that Morley is still a great place for companies to investin new, green technology. We’ve got a talented local workforce and a brilliantlocation at the Crossroads of Britain along with fantastic links to themotorway network.

I think it’s brilliant that an international company with such a strong reputationrecognises these benefits and choose to invest in our area.
