Public have their say on South Leeds Investment

On Friday, I was at our local Morrisons supermarket in Morley town centre. I attended the last in a series of public exhibitions focusing on the investment and regeneration needs and aspirations for South Leeds.

I met with members of the public and local councillors – Judith Elliott and TerryGrayshon. I was then briefed by Paul Gough who is the local plans team leader for Leeds City Council and Gerald Jennings, the portfolio director of Land Securities – one of the private sector supporters of the Investment Partnership for South Leeds (IPSL).

It was clearfrom the briefing that I received from Paul and Gerald that needs vary fromcommunity to community in our area.

In our localarea I know that there is a desire from the people of Morley to ensure that the town centre remains vibrant and a good place to do business, while attracting investment for regeneration activities – such as the work on-going at Morley Bottoms – which will bring new homes and improve the look of one of the key gateways to the town.

If you want anymore information on the Investment Partnership for South Leeds please don’t hesitate to get in touch with my office on 0113 253 9566.
