Volunteering with Barnardo’s on ‘Make a Difference’ Day

I joined volunteers at the Barnardo’s shop in Morley town centre to find out how the volunteers there help the charity make a difference to the lives of children across Leeds and Wakefield.

Volunteering is a great way to help your community, as well as meeting people and learning new skills. After an hour sorting and tagging clothes for sale, I became a bit of an expert with a clothes tagging gun, and you never know when that will come in handy.

Whether you can spare time every week, or just an hour as a one-off, you can support the fantastic work charities like Barnardo’s are doing. I would urge everyone to find a local charity or community group, and see how much difference an hour of your time can make.
