Bruntcliffe sixth-formers playscheme success

Student volunteers from Bruntcliffe School’s sixth form have taken two weeks out of their summer to help provide childcare and activities at the Morley School.

I visited the play scheme to see how students at the school’s Enterprise Centre are making good use of the facilities this summer, and gaining valuable work experience at the same time. Activities including indoor sports are led by a mix of professionals and student volunteers like Kyle (pictured) who is aiming to be a sports teacher in the future.

Bruntcliffe have built a strong reputation for using links with the community to help young people get real experience. Without this summer scheme, the school building would sit empty for six weeks, while parents try to find affordable things to do with the kids.
