Celebrating Chinese New Year at Churwell Primary School Children’s Club

Yesterday was Chinese New Year, and I went along to Play @ Churwell to see how the children were getting into the spirit of the festival.

There were some great activities laid on. I got involved with making Chinese lanterns, with a little help from some of the children.

Keeping kids occupied during half term can be tricky for parents. Places like this one in Churwell provide a great solution - good quality childcare with fun activities for young people.

Play @ Churwell offers childcare during school holidays, and wrap-around care for children aged 3 to 11 during term-time.

I want to say thanks to Cath Dunn, who does a great job running the club, and to the head teacher of Churwell Primary School, Cliff Summers, who made time to speak to me this morning. Also, special thanks to Julie Mallard for her support for Play @ Churwell - which is all on a voluntary basis – and is essential to keeping it running.
