Roll out of the Stephen Lawrence Education Standard

Today I was at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, helping to launch the national roll out of the Stephen Lawrence Education Standard.

The Standard was developed by Leeds schools in response to the tragic murder of Stephen Lawrence in 1993. It aims to stamp out racism in our classrooms – and in our communities.

Schools in Morley helped to lead the way on the Stephen Lawrence Education Standard. They were the first group of schools to come together and build a united voice against racism.

It’s great to see this work being rolled out so that schools across the country can learn from Yorkshire schools about tackling racism.

You can find out more about the ground-breaking work of the Morley Schools here.
