Congratulations to Morley High School

I want to send my congratulations to Morley High School on being one of the 100 schools with the most sustained improvement in the whole country.

Official school by school results for the whole of England published today show that Morley High increased the number of pupils getting five or more GCSEs at A*-C grade including English and maths from 31% in 2006 to 59% in 2008 – an increase of 28 percentage points.
I’m delighted that Morley High has seen such a big rise in its results over recent years and it is now the 19th most sustained improved school in the whole country. This is a great testament to the hard work and dedication of all the pupils and staff at the school.

John Townsley has done a fantastic job as headteacher, and I send my congratulations to him today and to all the pupils, staff and governors at Morley High for working so hard for these results. This is a great achievement which the school can be truly proud of.
