Bring breast screening back to Morley

With local campaigners to all for breast screening to return to Morley

With local campaigners to all for breast screening to return to Morley

I’ve joined other local activists to call  for a return to access to local breast cancer screening in Morley. Breast screening used to take place at Morley Sports centre but the new car park is thought to be too small to accommodate the mobile vehicle.

A number of women have been in touch with me about this important issue. Women used to be able to access a breast screening service in the centre of Morley at the sports centre. But when the sports centre was rebuilt a few years back, local screening was moved and it’s never come back. We need screening to be easy to access so women are not being put off. I’m calling on local officials to look at whether other local sites could be used instead.

We want a number of sites to be properly considered for the return of mobile breast screening to Morley:

-       Rear of Morley Town Hall on Wellington Street

-       Morrison’s Car Park

-       Asda Car Park

-       Chess Board in centre of Morley
