Brain Tumour Awareness: Constituents travel to London

Meeting in House of Commons with Christine Mabbett

Meeting in House of Commons with Christine Mabbett

Today in my office in the House of Commons I met up with Christine Mabbett who had travelled to London to talk to me about brain tumours and the work done by the Charity, Brain Tumour Research and Support across Yorkshire.

Brain Tumours have the biggest impact on life expectancy than any other cancer on victims under the age of 40. They kill more people under the age of 40 than any other cancer, including more children. This hasn’t improved for over 40 years.

I’ve campaigned on this issue for some years now and support a number of local charities campaigning in this area. Following my meeting with Christine, I’ll be writing again to the Heath Secretary to find out what new actions the Government are taking on this issue.

I’ll then be meeting up with local campaigners again once I’ve heard from the Health Secretary to find out what else I can do to support their campaign.
