New opportunity for local businesses

Over the last few months, I’ve been working closely with the Morley Chamber of Trade, Lee Jagger and O2 to try to get a better deal for our town.

These are really difficult times for shops and local businesses. Morley continues to thrive but shopkeepers and local businesses tell me any additional help and support can make a real difference.

We have a huge company, O2, on our doorstep and it’s great that they want to do more to support the town. O2 are the largest single employer in Leeds with over 2,500 people working there, many of whom live locally in Morley. Lee and I met with O2 a few weeks back and following our meeting, O2 have agreed to run a local version of their Priority Moments scheme in Morley.

This means that local businesses can make offers through O2 to any O2 customer. The scheme will mean that shoppers at White Rose for example will be able to look at their phone for offers and as well as the big chains, will see local Morley business offers running right alongside. We hope it will encourage more shoppers into the town.

Half a dozen local shops have already signed up but we want to make sure anyone who wants to can get involved too. Lee and I have written to local businesses who may be able to benefit.

Anyone who wants to find out more should get in touch with me by calling the office on  0113 2539466 or email ed@edballs.com
