Local businesses benefiting from new O2 scheme

Ed, Morley Chamber and local shops join forces with O2 to get more shopper into the town These are really difficult times for shops and local businesses. Morley continues to do well but shopkeepers and local businesses tell me any additional help and support can make a real difference. We have a huge company, O2, on our doorstep and it’s great that they want to do more to support the town. Working together with Lee Jagger, President of the Morley Chamber of Commerce we’ve been campaigning to get more support for the town. The new O2 priority local scheme has already got the backing of lots of local shops here in Morley. Some of the offers are discounts, others offer free delivery or a free gift if you spend a certain amount. Now, alongside major chains down at the White Rose, O2 customers will see offers from Morley shops too. In the run up to Christmas, I hope it brings additional shoppers into the town so people can see the great things the town has to offer.

For lots of businesses, using new technology, like mobile phone apps, can be daunting but O2 have offered to help local businesses to get their offers up and running. Successful small businesses in the high street here in Morley are telling me they’re already getting more trade as a result. That’s really good news. Lee and I will be meeting in the new year to discuss the next steps to get even more support for local firms in the months to come too.
