Wear a Hat Day for Brain Tumour Awareness Month

March is Brain Tumour Awareness Month and 28th March marks the culmination of the campaign with Wear a Hat day.

Right here in Leeds we’re lucky to have a fantastic lab that supports local patients and their families who are suffering with brain tumours.

I went over to the lab on Friday with fellow Leeds MP, Fabian Hamilton. We met Professor Susan Short and her great team of researchers who are doing some amazing research to try and improve treatment for the 5,000 people who are diagnosed with a tumout each year.

Fabian and I donned hats with local campaigners to mark Brain Tumour Awareness Month.  Many others will be doing the same during the month of March.

Wear a Hat Day is an opportunity for people to show their support to local brain tumour charities and our fantastic research lab here in Leeds which supports patients and their families from across the region. I will continue to work with local campaigners to do more to ensure there is a national centre of excellence for research in this area and more support for those affected by this devastating disease.

I also visited the centre last year with one of my constituents. You can read about my last visit here.
