Armed Forces Day afternoon tea in Morley

There were cucumber sandwiches and scones-a-plenty at my afternoon tea on Friday. The Morley Labour rooms were packed with local residents as well as current and former members of our armed forces to mark Armed Forces Day.

As well as afternoon tea, we held a raffle to raise money for the   Royal British Legion and raised over £150 for the local branch.

I hold an event to mark Armed Forces Day in the constituency every year. It’s a chance to raise public awareness of the contribution made to our country by those who serve and have served in the Armed Forces and to show our support to the men and women who make up the armed forces community: those currently serving troops, service families, veterans and cadets.

Thank you to all those who made the even possible. It was great to see so many local people showing their support.
