Hospice Care Week: Count me in!

I have seen for myself the fantastic work of  Wakefield Hospice in my constitency. It provides services and support to patients and families right across our area and I’ve visited many times. I even went so far as to abseil down Wakefield Cathedral which turned out to be one of the more nerve-wracking things I’ve ever been asked to do!

St Gemma’s too, supports hundreds of families from our area in very difficult times.

And as well as our local hospices supporting adults, we also have a specialist Children’s Hospice, Martin House which works around the individual needs of children, young people and their families in very difficult circumstances.

In Hospice Care week this week I’m delighted to back their ‘count me in’ campaigns. I look forward to continuing to work closely with them and supporting the amazing work they do for people in our area.
